Dr. Ramesh Babu is affiliated to the School of Chemistry, Trinity College, Dublin. He has over 15 years of research expertise in polymeric materials, coatings and nanocomposites.
Dr Maurice N Collins
Dr Maurice N Collins is a senior lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Limerick. The principal focus of his research group is on the structure/property/processing relationships of biopolymers. He leads EU research programs in applications of lignin-based materials from the forest.

Prof. Justin D. Holmes
Prof. Justin D. Holmes is Professor of Nanochemistry in the School of Chemistry at University College Cork (UCC). He leads the Materials Chemistry & Analysis Group (MCAG) conducting research on the development of chemical methods for synthesising and assembling nanostructured materials for electronic, catalytic, energy and environmental applications. He leads the sustainability research strand in the AMBER centre.
Prof. Joshi
Prof. Joshi is the Science Foundation Ireland appointed Stokes Professor of GlycoSciences at the National University of Ireland Galway, Ireland. His primary research interest is in the roles played by complex sugars in biological systems and technologies to study and understand these roles in maintaining health and during disease processes.
Dr. Michelle Kilcoyne
Dr. Kilcoyne is a lecturer in Microbiology in the School of Natural Sciences at the National University of Ireland Galway. Dr. Kilcoyne’s main research interests are in host-microbe interactions, immune response, bacterial polysaccharides and biofilms, and development of carbohydrate analytical methods and platforms for analytics.
Prof. Mick Morris
Prof Mick Morris is the chair of Surface and Interface Engineering at the School of Chemistry, Trinity College Dublin, and Academic Director of the AMBER centre. Prof. Morris’s work largely focuses on self-assembly of materials in thin films and green and sustainable chemistry.
Dr Fionnuala Murphy
Dr Fionnuala Murphy is an Assistant Professor in the UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering and is UCD Programme Director of the MSc Bioeconomy with Business, and Programme Coordinator of the MSc in Sustainable Energy and Green Technologies. Her research focuses on life cycle assessment modelling for the analysis of environmental impacts of a range of production systems, with a special interest in renewable energy systems
Prof. Kevin O’Connor
Prof. Kevin O’Connor is a full Professor in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology at University College Dublin. He is Academic Director of the BiOrbic bioeconomy research centre, and a leading national and EU champion for the bioeconomy. His research interests span the bioeconomy, biotechnology, biocatalysis, integrated biorefining, biomaterials, biopolymers, bioproducts, polyhydroxyalkanoate, and biopolymer applications.
